Keith Sharpe founded Goal Projects in 2001. Keith’s work at Goal Projects consists of the construction of many residential homes and alterations; mostly in the higher end market at golf and secure estates. Commercial projects include an office block for Barkley Oates, Courtenay Street George; wards upgrade and a new entertainment area at Harry Comay Hospital; classrooms at Heidedal primary school; a hostel and classrooms at Glenwood Private School.
Keith is intent on producing buildings of superior quality; and the success of this is borne out by the numerous referrals from past clients. They remain friends’ for decades after the project is completed!
Keith is involved in improvement of education, skills and poverty alleviation of general society, and to this end:
- Serves as President on the Eastern Cape MBA, serves on the executive of Southern Cape MBA, and Master Builders South Africa
- Served on George Business Chamber executive
- Served on executive of a golf organisation raising funds for charity and allowing less privileged players more affordable game time.
- Served on the governing body of De Bult school.
Keith’s character, work ethic, and quality of work are of an extremely high standard. This can be seen clearly by his remarkable reputation within the Garden Route. Keith lives up to the Proverb that gray hair brings about wisdom! He carries this wisdom into every area of his personal life and his working life; his generous spirit impacting lives in many ways. His work force has been with him for many years, showing a loyalty that one does not see often in the construction industry.
Prior to the founding of Goal Projects, Keith had built up a vast amount of experience, starting from 1982 when he qualified as a civil engineering technician at Wits Tech. Keith started and built his career at Group 5 Civils for 12 years on many different projects as site engineer/ contracts manager. Contracts included the following: power stations, water and sewer plants, air force base, gold and platinum mine infrastructure and much more.
In 1990 Keith joined Italtswana Construction Company in Botswana specifically as the contracts manager on the Reserve Bank, a 5 storey high quality finished building.
In 1995 Keith and his family of six returned to South Africa from Gaborone, Botswana and settled in George. Here, with Raymer Construction Keith managed various projects, namely, a shopping complex, warehouses, dental clinics in George and Johannesburg, residential new homes and alterations.
